How to handle my boyfriend's mum?

My boyfriend's mum disapproved of us going out.. She wants my boyfriend to graduate from Uni before talking about relationships..We have been going out for near 3 yrs and i still feel unsecured at times.. I feared he might give in to his mum and give up on our relationship.. Its really been hard on him ever since we started out.. What should i do? Should i break up? I really love him.. Please help..
