In the movie, a company commander potrayed by Tom Hanks rushes to the beaches of Normandy only to be greeted by torn and mutiliated bodies accompanied by a background of bullets shooting in the air. There was one part where he tried saving a soldier only later finding out that he was only carrying half the body. In another clip where Tom Hank hides behind a small mound of dirt, he pulls the other soldier close to him. That soldier's entire face was taken out. Are any of these scenes historically accurate?
